The Red Devils Set to Sign German Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific German striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Major Acquisition for United
Schüller, who has six months left on her contract, has been a prolific goal-getter for her club and the national team. She has scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 caps for Germany. Her arrival is viewed as a marquee coup for the WSL side.
Her exit from Munich was expected since she appeared to be holding back emotions while thanking the German club’s fans following a victory over Bayer Leverkusen recently.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was set to lose one of its leading forwards. Per reports, all the paperwork for the transfer are now finalised.
Reliable Goal Threat to Boost the Attack
The 28-year-old’s signing is expected to provide a significant uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been highly consistent with her finishing in the Bundesliga.
- For seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the top scorer award in the 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.
Gathering Steam at Carrington
The acquisition of the German international comes at a time when the club seem to be building momentum.
Their recent on-pitch successes include securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a victory in the Conti Cup quarter-finals.

- The acquisition of Swedish defender Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japan playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, who has become popular figure since joining in 2023.
On the midfielder's extension, a senior figure stated: “Miyazawa is now a critical component to the way we play. Her footballing intelligence and technical ability enables her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
