Iran Claims Attack on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
