The House Oversight Committee has published a collection of approximately 70 photos obtained from the property of deceased convicted individual convicted of sex crimes Jeffrey Epstein.

This marks the third disclosure from a larger collection of more than 95,000 photos the panel has secured from Epstein's property. It contains pictures of passages from the novel Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and censored photos of female foreign passports.

This disclosure comes just hours before the 19 December cut-off for the Justice Department to make public every files associated with its investigation into Epstein.

"These new images bring up more questions about precisely what the DOJ has in its custody," remarked the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Images Made Public

Several of the photos released on recently show Epstein conversing with professor and activist Noam Chomsky on a private jet; Bill Gates standing alongside a individual whose features is censored; Steve Bannon positioned at a desk opposite Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.

These are the most recent wealthy, prominent figures to be seen in Epstein estate photos disclosed by the House Oversight Committee - earlier published images also include US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as film director Woody Allen, former US Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and others.

Showing up in the photographs is is not considered proof of any misconduct, and many of the featured figures have stated they were never implicated in Epstein's unlawful actions.

In a press release released with the image release, Democratic members on the US House Oversight Committee stated the Epstein estate's representatives did not supply context or timeframes for the images.

"Photographs were selected to provide the American people with transparency into a illustrative selection of the photos received from the property, and to give perspectives into Epstein's associates and his exceptionally troubling behavior," the announcement says.

Investigative Body

The disclosure also includes multiple photos of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov literary work Lolita written in ink across various areas of a female's body, such as her chest, lower extremity, hip, and back. Lolita recounts the account of a adolescent who was groomed by a older literature professor.

There are also a collection of images of female passports and identification documents from states globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

A large portion of the data on the IDs, including names and DOBs, is censored but the committee stated in a statement that the travel documents belong to "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators were involved with".

An additional image depicts Epstein positioned at a table in close proximity in the company of three women whose features have been redacted - one has her palm on Epstein's chest under his shirt, and another individual is bending to view a nearby computer. Epstein appears to be aiding the final person attach a piece of jewelry.

An additional image made public is a image of digital messages from an unknown person who claims they have been sent "some girls" and are requesting "$1000 for each individual".

Image Release Comes Before DOJ Deadline

The committee has a vast number of photographs in its possession from the Epstein property, which are "simultaneously disturbing and mundane," its press release on Thursday noted.

The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who died in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while facing trial on allegations of sex trafficking, in August.

The photographs and documents the Epstein estate's representatives provided to the body are separate from what is commonly called "the Epstein documents". That material are records under the Department of Justice's control connected to its independent investigation into Epstein.

In accordance with the Transparency Act, which Donald Trump made law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to disclose its files.
